Ah we theah yet?

Lord Marmaduke, of Bunkerton,  travelling abroad and recently landed in Atlantica, has his man examine a sign post to ensure they are on the right road.

Officially Lord Marmaduke is tourist, travelling abroad while on leave, but rumour has it that he is actually an emissary from the Grand Duchess Gloriana of East Anglia to the Council of Oberhilse.

  2. I'm pleased to see he has arrived. I don't think he has the intelligence to get up to any skulduggery, it's private Wayne, his batman, that you have to watch - after all, no-one notices the servants hanging around watching and listening to their betters.

    1. I was also very pleased to find him in my mailbox, thank you! I'll admit though that when I saw the box my I thought it was Captain Sir William Widdrington come to observe and was surprised to find Lord Snooty, pleased but surprised. Took a while for a vague memory to surface and I eventually traced back his discovery but not the more recent email which has gone to the ether.

Please do let me know if there is another 40mm 19thC theater of wargames that he wishes to visit but in the meantime I shall endeavor to find him some safe but exciting adventures to write home about.

    2. Just a quick update on Widdrington. He's been a little lax in communication lately, but recent information puts him in the middle of an FLW Herring War. No doubt he'll be on the move again shortly.

  3. How is he coping with the foreign muck they call food in these parts?

  4. I have my doubts that any good will come of this embassy. You can talk all you want to these Oberhilse fellas, but they only diplomacy they respect is backed with powder and shot and a manful willingness to use it.

    1. Well diplomacy maybe, but the chance to make or save a buck is something they understand. I couldn't help but notice that the Anglian army is clad in grey as are some Oberhilse units, the only Atlantican army to do so. I smell an attempt to find a market for bales of grey Anglian cloth.

  5. Diplomacy has very little to do with it. The Anglian powers that be, the new young Grand Duchess and her advisers, have bellicose neighbours with designs on her country (and person)so her unbloodied officers are being sent to various places where things military are going on, in order to pick up a few ideas.

    1. A likely story, still, I'm not convinced it isn't a mission to sign a contract to supply Oberhilse volunteer units with grey cloth from Anglian mills.
