Needs paperwork, but why not have an attritional system - elite units up to 10-20 strength points which can be lost even if figures aren't, go down to zero you break? Points lost could also be used as a 'casualty multiplier' - purely to allow you to take more casualties off a large attackinbg unit so it looks as though they are getting hammered! Unit has 1-3 strength points left lose 3 figures, 4-6 left lose 2 figures, 7-9 left lose 1 figure 'extra' per combat/shooting phase? All numbers given here have no basis in fact or playtesting, so treat with extreme distain!

Cheers

RobRob Younghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02533996736711014752noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-14513389610862972242011-06-05T03:48:54.358-03:002011-06-05T03:48:54.358-03:00Ross Mac,

Furthermore, it works with the basic rules as written.

It was my intention that the PORTABLE WARGAME rules should have the ability to have additional rules 'plugged in' to them to meet specific needs and requirements ... and what you are suggesting does exactly that.

I look forward to reading your next battle report.

All the best,

Bob

PS. I hope to play-test the latest draft of my rules later today. They include some of the terrain effects rules (as included in my latest blog entry) that your previous battle report indicated were needed.Robert (Bob) Corderyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13109130990434792266noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-65034659131572844782011-06-05T01:47:40.828-03:002011-06-05T01:47:40.828-03:00The strength point solution sounds simple and like...The strength point solution sounds simple and like it should work.
