I find as I get older, the old school figures become more appealing to me, I think because blogs and magazines tend to make me feel glutted with the latest, Dallimore-style paint job figures painted to the highest standard. Or maybe, like Foy, I'm just getting old and crochety, I don't know. :)Mad Padrehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00410143683610813671noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-49444008004441580222014-02-11T20:13:48.209-04:002014-02-11T20:13:48.209-04:00Thanks Steve, im hoping I won't like the new P...Thanks Steve, im hoping I won't like the new PA multi part molds.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-64746951024165990732014-02-11T20:12:25.414-04:002014-02-11T20:12:25.414-04:00Thanks Jeff, I don't mind individual figures t...Thanks Jeff, I don't mind individual figures that will stand up but being light plastic on tiny bases, they tended to fall over in droves at the slightest tremour or breath of air.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-81663724982559263422014-02-11T20:09:25.955-04:002014-02-11T20:09:25.955-04:00Merci PhilMerci PhilRoss Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-55087515787894294192014-02-11T20:06:07.843-04:002014-02-11T20:06:07.843-04:00Luckily we still have the right to paint minis in ...Luckily we still have the right to paint minis in whatever style we like. I too prefer Prince August although stylistically the Spencer Smiths are at least distant cousins, maybe closer. But enough molds have been made for the PA's over the years that it seems to me they offer more variety.

SteveCorporal_Trimhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00376387688651637091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-53580972462344933502014-02-11T19:29:35.575-04:002014-02-11T19:29:35.575-04:00Its actually quicker and easier to do, just a diff...Its actually quicker and easier to do, just a different focus. Very well done, sir.

It is similar to what I do in that I use block colors . . . (although mine don't look as fine as these) . . . but I'm painting toys for the game table, not for close-up photography . . . and I'm happy with the results.

And while I actually just finished basing 72 figures on steel pennies (so they'll stick to sheet magnets), I agree that I wouldn't care to have to play a large game with everything on individual bases.

Once again, lovely well-painted figures. Thank you for sharing them with us.

-- Jeff
Bluebear Jeffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05171345165563779232noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-42557607153834085272014-02-11T06:24:34.790-04:002014-02-11T06:24:34.790-04:00Beautiful, a great set of figures!Beautiful, a great set of figures!Philhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08913029478686087197noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-70204624337573307372014-02-11T06:11:50.835-04:002014-02-11T06:11:50.835-04:00I share your sentiment about black undercoat and l...I share your sentiment about black undercoat and lining and shading. Having returned to painting 25mm figures after a break of 35 years, I was surprised to see black lines and heavy shading. Not for me. Last year, I painted a dragoon squadron of Spencer Smiths, white coats, buff small clothes, using white undercoat and not using black lining, I really enjoyed the painting. I have another squadron to paint in the metal mountain.Pierre le Poiluhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06436066439479804578noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-8883330009365288112014-02-11T04:25:07.203-04:002014-02-11T04:25:07.203-04:00A really wonderful look - I am envious of your abi...A really wonderful look - I am envious of your ability to paint like that without lining!Strykerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14258922461691204362noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-53392538891279898622014-02-10T20:58:22.872-04:002014-02-10T20:58:22.872-04:00Thanks Cesar, I greatly admire HE's work as we...Thanks Cesar, I greatly admire HE's work as well.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-17646406805622451832014-02-10T20:49:55.503-04:002014-02-10T20:49:55.503-04:00Thanks Sarge. Thanks Sarge.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-28727445198640748622014-02-10T20:49:05.087-04:002014-02-10T20:49:05.087-04:00Thanks StokesThanks StokesRoss Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-64480547700742347292014-02-10T20:48:25.891-04:002014-02-10T20:48:25.891-04:00You have done an excellent job.
