That I did not catch. I played it that a unit could fire during it's own activation and when ever fired upon, based on the rule "A unit may only act once per turn other than to respond to the enemy." Makes a big difference. Thanks for the clarification.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10701609658203478532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-67603959588904894402012-01-26T21:05:22.871-04:002012-01-26T21:05:22.871-04:00Hi Dave Glad to hear that you had a game and did s...Hi Dave Glad to hear that you had a game and did some tinkering of your own.

What can I say? Those Germans were going to fire sooner or later, sometimes, when faced with 3:1 odds, being discrete is a valid response :). Of course faced with a limit on his return fire, the German might choose to save his fire until his own activation.

I've been editing & formatting all day (well not steadily) and have just uploaded the latest draft with the Orders minus being banished and some bits that I thought were there added, arty upped a bit and so on.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-65851464707368169292012-01-26T18:20:50.381-04:002012-01-26T18:20:50.381-04:00Hi Ross

I know, not the time period they were designed for but the organization fit. Had a very enjoyable outing.

Couple things. As you noted in your blog; the modifier for firing or melee in last activation was quickly forgotten in the heat of battle.

I had the situation come up where a French Ccompany in skirmish formation refused to fire upon an advancing German formation, 3 full strength companies. The French Captain ordered, pleaded and begged his men to fire. "No Captain, we will not throw two dice so they can react with nine dice." The Captain looked at me, and there was a rule change - reaction fire may not exceed the orginal firer's number of dice.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10701609658203478532noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-65665980205395799722012-01-26T12:41:31.159-04:002012-01-26T12:41:31.159-04:00Jeff, Conrad, Agitate away but I stand firm.
