That was...These lads were down for Cold Wars 1997. That was the first HMGS con I attended. I went down in particular for the Armati Arena but not for the straight bash ups (I did play 1 or 2 with borrowed armies though), The rules said you could bring a scenario as long as you were willing to give any opponent the choice of sides. I broke my Scots into a Highland and Lowland armies, wrote up background set in the Harlaw campaign and staged 2 Grant scenarios, wagon train and bridgehead breakout. Played a couple of games and then opened it to others to play. <br /><br />I had a blast. So much so that I came back next year and started GM'ing.
