I used blanket rolls on the earlier guys.

For terrain, I was thinking of buildings and settlement patterns mostly. It'll be a while before I get to making some custom houses but I'm tempted to go with a pattern of tight packed villages. After selecting a basic unform color you...Hi Ross,

After selecting a basic unform color you really should not feel too limited by a choice of facing colors. The Priussinas, as you know, used four colors for troops raised in various areas of their country during the late Napoleonic wars. You might think about using differing piping colors to represent different battalions in the same regiment. So, if you have used red as the facing color the first battalion could be piped white, the second yellow, the third light blue. Just a suggestion. I agree with Conrad about liking the two figures on the right the most.

One last comment. I would not worry too much about the scenery of North America in the late 1860's. For example, areas of Long Island (near NYC) as far out as seventy miles sufferd from erosion and deforestation as the city demanded more and more food and firewood. It might be inferred that the same things also happened in other areas of population density. There are hilly areas with woods, hilly areas with scrub, mighty waters and tiny rivulets. You also have substantial areas of coast line which might tempt your forces into an amphibious attack on their opponents.

Continued great stuff. You are one of my favorite bloggers since you have the power of metacognition where you actually explain what you are thinking when you make game design decisions. Keep up the good work!

Jerry Lannigan
A/K/A The Celtic CurmudgeonCelticCurmudgeonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17687177512999052331noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-50062933363373215362013-06-02T07:30:52.718-03:002013-06-02T07:30:52.718-03:002nd from the left does it for me too; the red goes...2nd from the left does it for me too; the red goes just so well with the brasswork.

GregBloggeratorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15501347647235993401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-22324820638608486942013-06-01T00:17:14.455-03:002013-06-01T00:17:14.455-03:00Ah yes that is the venerable Blue Guard, veterans ...Ah yes that is the venerable Blue Guard, veterans of many a hard fought battle over the last 5 years.Ross Mac rmacfa@gmail.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04053555991679802013noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2839601747923375105.post-30408260701345031592013-06-01T00:14:13.425-03:002013-06-01T00:14:13.425-03:00True, true but military fashion often has a reaso...True, true but military fashion often has a reason behind its inconsistencies whether regimental tradition or a meddling monarch manifesting a mania for military millinery.
