It feels good to have a game on the rable again!
Born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal 7 decades ago. Began playing with toy soldiers at 5 years. Started painting & converting at about 12 yrs and wargaming about 15 yrs. Never really stopped.
5 years in the Black Watch of Canada Cadets, 5 years at the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean followed by 4 in the navy. 25 years with CPC in IT simultaneous with 23 years running a boarding kennel. Inherited my love of toy soldiers from my mother's father. Married with a pack of litle Italian Greyhounds and a cat. Prematurely retired and enjoying leisure to game, maintaining our 170 yr old farmhouse and just living.
Nice song. Been a Fairport fan for years - actually saw them in Liverpool in the 70s. Can't remember a female singer at that concert - sure I would remember seeing either of them - main impression was Dave Swarbrick bouncing on and off the stage playing his fiddle like someone totally demented!
ReplyDeleteI heard 'Tam Lin' on the 'underground' rock station in Montreal c '73 and went out bought the album and was hooked. Bought Full House and Nine later and while all were well played, Liege and Leaf is still my favourite. TG for Youtube because while I still have the records, I don't have a player!
DeleteSandy dropped out in the mid 70's shortly before her death and I'm not sure they every replaced her.
Fall cleanup done and garden locked down--tis the start of the gaming season!
ReplyDeleteWell not done yet but I'm not about to let that stop me on a rainy day!
DeleteCavalry really look terrific as they advance…
ReplyDeleteAlan Tradgardland
Those lads are always enthusiastic!
DeleteHope the game is going/went well, Ross….‘Unfortunate Oversight’ is a great scenario, and always fun to get them dices rolling (ps looks like yr being spammified…unless of course you have a side line in selling Levis??!!)
ReplyDeleteThose travelling salesmen, they often manage to get a toe in the door but the hounds clear them out quickly enough.
DeleteThat’s good to hear 😎
DeleteOne of my favorite OHW scenarios! I don't think I have ever succeeded in capturing the hill as the attacker by fighting my way through the town. Even when going via the ford, I find it's still a tough one - although with the cavalry leading the way it looks like Blue might have a good chance of getting there, if not first, at least very soon after Red.
