An EMPTY wide open field! Is there a sadder site? (sic)
I wonder how I should fill it?
(PS that's an invitation to make requests.)

Born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal 7 decades ago. Began playing with toy soldiers at 5 years. Started painting & converting at about 12 yrs and wargaming about 15 yrs. Never really stopped.
5 years in the Black Watch of Canada Cadets, 5 years at the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean followed by 4 in the navy. 25 years with CPC in IT simultaneous with 23 years running a boarding kennel. Inherited my love of toy soldiers from my mother's father. Married with a pack of litle Italian Greyhounds and a cat. Prematurely retired and enjoying leisure to game, maintaining our 170 yr old farmhouse and just living.
Prince Valiant please.

He is due....
DeleteI do like your 40mm Not quite the Seven Years War collection
ReplyDeleteAlas, I have passed the bulk of my fictional ones on to the Maryland club that adopted me for the use of any club members since I don't know that I'll ever make the 1,600km drive again. But, our last NQSYW game involving me was at Portland, only 1/2 the distance and I kept my French and British and Provincial units so they will be appearing on my table and I have them put them on my sooner list.
DeleteNot a sad site but exciting and full of possibility, a blank canvas ...
ReplyDeleteIts exiting when throngs of toy soldiers are eager to enter the arena but after more than 3 weeks have gone by, piled high with miscellaneous boxes, bins and little piles of books and of junk, while I rearranged furniture, it seemed to be feeling a bit forlorn and could almost be heard to mutter 'there comes a time when the soldiers cease to sparkle ...'. But I'm sure when the bugles sound and the heavy trod of soldiers makes the board tremble, it will all sparkle again.
DeletePrince Valiant!
ReplyDeleteOooh 2 votes for the Prince. Perhaps I shan't wait for reinforcements to be painted!
