Before Featherstone there was

My first heads up that there were "adult" wargames out there somewhere. A photocopy of 2 out of 3 pages of an article on Wargaming and making model soldiers from the Boy Scouts of Canada magazine, some time in the late 60'a or early 70's.  Wish I knew what happened to the 2nd part of the main article, not that it had any specifics on wargaming.

I also wish you could still get Britain's for .35 apiece!

OK back to work on my game for Huzzah. The refurbishing of the old cloth is coming along nicely.

  1. Dangerous stuff, too much exposure to this kind of printed material and one might conceive the notion that one should wargame properly, only with original Britains, or similar style figures one has made oneself.

The thought has never occurred to me honest guv. Well, not for a while...

  2. Oddly, I had some of those same charging Highlanders out on the table last night. It runs deep!

  4. Nice find, Ross. Now that's "Old School" in every respect. You know it was older and simpler times when they talk about pouring molten lead in an article presumably written for young people.

    1. Not to mention the use of plaster of paris for moulds! But it was meant for Scouts so presumably they would be prepared!
