Recalled to the Table

A little bit of progress at last. Revolutionary French skirmishers.
Yeah I know, the grenadier pompom should be a horsehair plume or a carrot but .......might add the falling plumes yet if I get inspired.

Early stages of painting.

This will be unit 3 out of 6 for my French. Then maybe Highlanders will deserve reinforcements.

    1. The bodies are from the Zinnbrigade Napoleonic French series of moulds. 4 of the heads are from Prince August Rosbach series Prussian NCO moulds, 2 of the heads are from moulds I made for my War of 1812 collection 14 years ago,

    1. We always went without reinforcement when wearing our kilts....

  3. They appear larger than they are (in a good way: I guess you could say that they render a "big" impression, if that makes sense)--it took me a bit to notice the background paint tubes and gain a sense of perspective.

    1. You mean the pint bottles? Oh wait you can see the oz's.
40's certainly feel small after you've been painting 54's. I'm trying to remember how I used to paint 15mm French in striped trousers and piping 30+ years ago. I might need to buy some new brushes before I finish these guys!
