It has now been over 20 years since I launched "With MacDuff On the Web" and nearly 10 years since I launched my 2 blogs: Gathering of Hosts and Battle game of the Month.
To celebrate the years and the friends and the million hits I've decided to run a 3 game mini-campaign in late October and I'm asking YOU to help choose the period. It has to be something from my current list but please comment on any post from Sep 12 till Oct 1 or email me : rmacfa@gmail.com to let me know your preference and any suggestions on the mini campaign.
The polls are now open!

Ross, I don’t mind the period so much, but thought something from Featherstone or Grant might be an appropriate way to mark this moment, perhaps with three linked scenarios from the Neil Thomas One Hour wargames scenarios.
ReplyDeleteI tend to see Thomas as a modern version of Featherstone for his rules and a modern version of Grant for his teaser style scenarios.
I’d love to pick one Ross, but don’t have access to the page link!
DeleteSorry, the link in the header and the one on the menu at right were working. The one in the post now fixed.
DeleteNorm. Noted. Oddly I see some connection between Thomas and Morchauser but very little with Featherstone. Worth a discussion or a pint or a hot cuppa. Anyway I have made good use of his scenarios as well as Grant's. The latter are of course by CS Grant not Grant Senior but I call down praise on him for his tabletop teasers and scenario books which helped rescue me from competition style battles back in the 80's.
DeleteThe campaign will undoubtedly be a series of linked scenarios from one or other or both of these sources.
'The Gathering of Hosts' seems to have flown under my radar - didn't know it was around!
ReplyDeleteOn the choice of period, I'm going to stick my vote for something modern, with tanks. The small taste we got a few weeks ago something whetted the appetite!
But as all your games and scenarios are interesting, I'll be watching this space regardless of chosen period!
Cheers,
Ion
These days GofH flies along the rate of 1 or 2 posts a year. Easy to miss.

DeleteThe ACW as the photos of those games always look so splendid with the Airfix miniatures.
