We Don't Need No Minicampaign

We can end this with just one battle.

Fall is always one of the hardest seasons for finding time to paint or play but some goes on anyway.

With only a few voting  days left it doesn't look like ACW is going to be the poll winner so I thought I'd give the boys an outing now.

The table is set, maybe I'll be able to make time on Sunday...

  2. Hi Ross- great to see the AIRFIX- they look great. My first ever Soldiers were AIRFIX - ACW Union Infantry. Cheers.

    1. They weren't my first but the Confederates were my 1st Airfix.

  3. I made quite a few attempts at Airfix ACW - there were some articles in the late 60s that almost led to 'greater things' - but the period always fell by the wayside. No real idea why.

  5. I vote for the American Civil War ... a last rallying cry and a Rebel Yell for an ACW mini campaign, anyone?

Photographed beautifully as you have done, the old Airfix figures up close and well painted look as good as any metal figures. I treasure the few ones I had as a child when they were mostly unobtainable. Fortunately an American railroad modeller at work kindly gave me an old tin box of ACW figures on sprues and found a few blue box Airfix ACW sets as well. Stylish stylish figures.

(Have you guarded against any chances of subtle Russian, sorry foreign powers, behind the scenes intervention in your election? If the result is a Russian Civil War option you didn't even offer ...)

    1. A laudable argument for your cause. We'll see what effect it has on the voters.

  6. I love the unit in butternut, that is such a fine contrast to the chaps in blue. And what a great looking table, you really make me want get out my ACW figures again.
    Cheers,
    Mike

    1. Good to hear from you. Those butternuts are one of my favoured veteran units, painted back in '83.
