Spring is upon us!
And with Spring, comes a little bit more variety.
I didn't do quite as much painting and playing as I'd planned over the winter but overall I accomplished more than hoped for since things have finally fallen into place after 7 years of searching, pondering, probing and testing.
I'm expecting a busy painting and playing season ahead but there are still 3 days of Winter left so still time for another game or two before the Winter Campaign Season ends.

Winter is Going!
Born and raised in the suburbs of Montreal 7 decades ago. Began playing with toy soldiers at 5 years. Started painting & converting at about 12 yrs and wargaming about 15 yrs. Never really stopped.
5 years in the Black Watch of Canada Cadets, 5 years at the Collège militaire royal de Saint-Jean followed by 4 in the navy. 25 years with CPC in IT simultaneous with 23 years running a boarding kennel. Inherited my love of toy soldiers from my mother's father. Married with a pack of litle Italian Greyhounds and a cat. Prematurely retired and enjoying leisure to game, maintaining our 170 yr old farmhouse and just living.

Great looking fellows.
ReplyDeleteYes the new PA SYW figures are very well done.
DeleteThey look quite smart. I like the scarlet and black / dark blue? Very handsome.
ReplyDeleteSeven years is a lot of pondering.
Black.Based on a Russian Pandour uniform in Kannik.
DeleteWearisome long, esp as a 2nd bout. Still reassuring more than frustrating to end up where I began in 54mm 18 years ago.
Their 40mm stuff is really quite excellent. Your colour choices are top notch - is that a bespoke uniform?
ReplyDeleteThe 2 original companies were inspired by rather than copied from Russian Pandour - frontier militia sort of in Kannik, same colour scheme but short jackets of a different design etc. The new Grenadiers are painted to match but in bearskins and with no conversion needed.
DeleteLike the new PA figures , Tony
ReplyDeleteMe too though I'd have liked a different century.

ReplyDeletePerhaps one day PA will get around to the Grenz/Pandours????????

Not unless they do a range of Turks for them to fight....... what I'd really like is a nice, generic General.

DeleteI agree, I am waiting for command for most of my armies. I can swing it - after the French infantry and the Austrian cuirassier. I have discussed it with them, and it is planned.
(The change to digital sculpting has been REALLY difficult, but hopefully things should start moving again soon, I may be getting some French moulds next week - perhaps)
If you have any good prints of what you fancy send them, or links, and I will open a discussion on the blog.
