EXCERPT FROM APPENDIX 1 from Don Featherstone's Battles With Model Soldiers
(The book that got me started.)

"Nothing in these pages is a dictate, no word says you must or you shall do it this way. On the contrary, the book sets out from the very beginning to stimulate the reader to think for himself, and to use what he has read merely as a foundation for efforts and ideas which reflect his own temperament and character. Only in this way will he obtain maximum satisfaction from the hobby of battling with model soldiers."

Something Old, Something New

Something Rebel  (a mix of Airfix, Italeri and Imex looking remarkably uniform and tidy)

Something Blue. A new Federal Brigade Commander after an unfortunate encounter with a bottle labeled "matte varnish". Past its best before apparently.  New Imex and Airfix recruits in the background. Can they be dressed and trained, ready for action by the weekend?

  1. Still love the old Airfix figs.

  2. I hate it when something goes wrong with varnish. It's tremendously dispiriting.

  3. Rodger, Me too!

Conrad, I was lucky, just a bit shinier than expected. Its the varnish that goes cloudy that gets me.
