There's a Hole in the Bucket Dear Henry

Its just been one of those weeks.

I struggled to find first, time, and then, energy, for hobby stuff. On the occasions that I did find time, I ran into one of those situations where everything I went to do required me to do something else first.

However, by this afternoon I was finally  able to sit down and pick the figures for four new  bases of Gensd'armes and got a start on preparing the figures for assembly.

I also got a start on adding a standard bearer to the Rhinegrave's stand to promote him to Army Commander status.

There's nothing like a start for making progress! I'm hoping for rain on Saturday........

  1. Yeah, just getting started can be a struggle sometimes, but once you do it can really get you going. Hoping for some rain here, too. While I try to get some stuff started. :)
    Good luck with your projects!

  2. Lately I've been doing a lot of painting....... at the top of a ladder with a four inch brush, which is not nearly as much fun as it sounds. You know things are desperate when we all start wishing for rain!

    1. Yeah done that. Plans call for me to do alot of it next year so I'd best make use of the respite.

  3. Yes, sometimes it takes awhile to get started on a model related project. I've some of my own Rules to write up on the Computer - delaying this until night time when it is too cold to sit in my shed and paint figures.

  4. Lovely figures which will look great in your games. I have been caught up too but in different ways. Left me with not too much energy or enthusiasm at times.

  6. Wet weather always helps with the hobby I've found .

  7. I find a value in always having something primed ready to paint, so that when painting one batch stops, I don’t get that break that can drag on before the next batch gets even looked at.

    1. My main goal these days is to add as few figures as possible without completely giving up that side of the hobby.

  8. As you know... I always have several things on at a time, some of which have been ongoing for decades. It helps to keep the interest going which motivates you to find the energy... getting started is always the thing...

    1. Along with clearing a work space and fighting with glue!

    2. Yes, there is that... and finding the glue is sometimes a problem... and finding the right paint... and... er... I'm a bit messy really.

    1. If it doesn't I'll claim I'm avoiding the escaped murderer.

  10. "I ran into one of those situations where everything I went to do required me to do something else first"-- a nice summation of a familiar feeling we've all had. A bout of "painting weather" might be just the thing to get you past it.
