"General, my men have been working hard, very hard, but terra forming 104 6" squares is a lot of work for one company of Pioneers, a LOT of work."
"Yes, I thought it might be, so I approached General Lannigan and he has agreed to lend us a company of his sappers to help with the work."
"We're planning a battle for Sunday Major, so even if its not done and dusted, it'd better be ready enough for a trial by then."
"Yessir!"

Laying a grid is hard work. Good to see you have a willing group of modern day uschebtis.

ReplyDeleteA lot of ground to cover!
Luckily, its mostly window dressing and I could play on it now.
DeleteMany a young soldier has been sent to the supply sergeant for a box of grid squares, but I don't think I ever saw one making them before. But as a one-time carpenter, might not snapping chalk lines speed up the process?
ReplyDeleteActually the grid is already marked. Now it is being camouflaged so that to a casual observer, it is just a patchwork landscape of various fields, woods, meadows, small streams etc
DeleteIt’s Hip to be Square!
ReplyDeleteI always tried to avoid being hip but look at me now!
DeleteWell done those men ! , issue of grog alround !
ReplyDeleteI don't think their mouths open, probably best if I drink it for them......
