The scenario for this week's game is An Unfortunate Oversight from Thomas' One Hour Wargames.
My version at the end of turn 1. To aid me in laying out the battlefields when playing OHW scenarios, I marked out 9 sectors using dark green squiggles. |
And here is the original for comparison purposes:
Red deploys first within 12" of the village. Blue then deploys anywhere "south" of the river.
Table look great, Ross. Awaiting for the battle to begin.
ReplyDeleteI managed 2!! turns today. Hopefully tomorrow will be the day.
DeleteInteresting setup. I have an insane vision of neither side 'seeing' the other and both just carrying on marching forwards...
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure the Rebels knew the redcoats were there or they would have used the bridge.
DeleteI thought this might be the scenario after seeing your previous post. I play this one a fair amount, but, I do find it awkward pretending that I don't know about the ford when I'm commanding the army north of the river.
ReplyDeleteI think its only the 2nd time I've tried it.
DeleteThomas Scenarios ..... the gift that keeps on giving! It seems that the fact that both sides get six units, pretty much compels Blue to set up at distance from Red to try and get everything across the second bridge and not pin the enemy at the first bridge, Looks to be something of a race.
ReplyDeleteI considered a diversion at the bridge but even with an actual opponant it seemed futile. I suspect you have to get there with the "mostest" as well as being "fustest" as Forrest might have put it.
DeleteVery nice picture. And this is an interesting scenario. Looking to see how it plays out. Always thought this would be a great scenario for the Fenian Raids.
ReplyDeleteEric
It would, especially in the early days.
DeleteAn enjoyable scenario and agree that diversions are unlikely to be of benefit, they all failed when I tried them with this scenario.
