General I thought you said you were chasing a small Rebel force?

" They look pretty big to me!"

"Son, you ever report on a 54mm battle before?"

OK, this ain't a 1/72 ACW battle. The fence sections are done and the infantry have had a basecoat but.......that was all the sitting I had in me and I  was suffering from game withdrawal.

The table is all set up, the first two turns have been  played and a late winter storm is forecast for Friday, so I 'm all set.

  1. And! 54mm Confed'rits firing .577 calibre bullets. How appropriate. You need to pace yourself by limiting play to 54min out of each hour w/ 6m breaks...as an ode to micro armour fans.

  3. Oh, and just what shall the scenario be this time? Eagerly awaiting the battle report. In light of this weekend's goofy weather, I have elected to take a four day pass and drove back to Pennsylvania from duty in Vermont last night.

    1. Its one of the One Hour ones. Our goofy weather is more sunshine than snow so I'm not complaining.

  4. A stormy, inclement weekend, the perfect time to batten down the hatches and enjoy a nice, long wargame!

    1. It would have been but short and easy was better than nothing.

  5. I like how you arranged the storm so you could have time to play!

  6. Which figures are these Ross? I really like the wooden figure look of them.

    1. These are all homecasts apart from the Reb officer on foot and the limber driver (converted RHA), both Britains. The Zouaves were converted from a Britain's highlander then I made a mould. The rest are conversions based on homecast figures from commercially sold moulds, many of which look very much like Britain's.

  7. Some very collectable figures there. Would cost a 'bomb' to raise an army of Britains ACW figures, you would have to convert or cast to achieve a suitable number.

    1. Very much. I started with a base of a dozen or so of my toys from the mid 60's and a collection bought from the widow of the original owner, The rest are largely conversions of homecasts.
