Winter Left Early

Well, it had to happen sometime. Winter went from mild to over, several weeks early. The winter campaigning season is now, officially, over.

Right then gentlemen, I believe we are agreed. No fortifying or reinforcing for the next two weeks and no hostilities without prior notification.

This doesn't mean a halt to all hobby activity but apart from the usual outdoor stuff, we are finally tackling an interrupted renovation. My games room is now crowded with evacuees from the war zone and my table has become a temporary sawhorse and work table but only for a few hours at a time.

So  gaming will continue but less often and only the smaller, simpler sorts of game for the next few weeks.

Right, back to work. Save our battlefield!

  1. Wargaming tables seem to gather detritus very easily .

    1. Big flat surface, not shared with the rest of the family or non wargaming guests..Very handy.

  2. Good luck with the Renovation Ross- looking forward to perhaps seeing some photos of the works. Stay safe and well there. Regards. KEV. (Sydney-Australia).

    1. Its mostly a walk in bedroom closet and such like. There is always something to take me away from play :)

  3. When we had renovation, my games room served the same purpose--given the disruption of renovation, I suppose it is fortunate to at least have a "swing" space like the games room/man cave to stack things up the things that had to be moved out of the way as opposed to trying to live amongst all the displaced stuff.

    1. Having tried both alternatives, yes the space is good and it adds incentive to "get'er done!"

  4. Well, I wish it was the end of winter here in Vermont... Supposed to get snow Sunday night into Monday. Almost wish I was back in Pennsylvania...

Fortunately, Herself is planning renovations whilst I am overseas, so I shall not have that to worry about.

    1. I remember Mar..99? driving down to Cold Wars in March, being forced off the highway to a motel north of Portland by a foot of snow on the interstate but arriving in Lancaster Pa to tshirt weather.

Mind you, I also remember one March at Cold Wars where freezing rain and sleet made walking across the parking lot of the Lancaster Host an issue, never mind driving.

We did have a sympathy flurry here this morning....but that's spring in the Maritimes.
