Duty First

Family matters preempted my game today.

OK, I did manage 1 turn.

In the unlikely event that the howling winds of this 18 hour over night snow storm don't knock out our power, the game will proceed on Saturday.

  1. Hope all is well Ross, looking forward to turn two and beyond.

  2. I agree the tbltop looks pleasingly bucolic.

(Aren't there any house rules stating things like a power outage signals a battle's delay, meaning the defender is allowed X" of entrenchments? A spilled tea spells sodden ground during the game? A coincidental courier or mail delivery means a Command bonus? Etc.)

  3. Real life stops play - a familiar tale I'm afraid .

  4. Looks good as usual and yes, family matters before the toys we play with.

  5. It was a doozy. House was rattling pretty hard at one point.

    1. I have a sinking feeling that the rain is going to hit us before I completely finish shovelling (can't push it these days) THEN it'll be a mess for sure.

  6. Here's hoping that you can hunker down and dig out...and then play with toy soldiers!

  7. I don't miss snowstorms back in New England...oh wait... I'll be back there in a month...

Hope your shovel is tuned up and you've got a pot of coffee cooking.

  8. Hi Ross,
Down the coast (Connecticut and Long Island) we are scheduled for a "snow event" on Sunday night into Monday. Are you anticipating getting hit with this also? Stay warm and safe!

    1. A bit of it. Alternating snow and rain with freezing at night.
My least favorite combo but comes with the territory and I'll take it over floods, forest fires, and earthquakes!

    1. I'm sorry but I don't. I didn't have a scenario in mind so I got out bits of terrain and played around until I got an idea. I will make a map or take a picture of the ground with comments.
