Here's a quick look at the French so far:
1 General
1 squadron of Hussars
1 field gun
2x8 skirmishers
3x16 infantry (1 unit waiting for their flag to be sewn and presented.)
Not much of an army for me to command yet but there is room to grow and stocks of moulds and metal.
A great force for gaming and adding to…
ReplyDeleteThere's room for a few more...
DeleteA splendid looking force. I particularly like the Hussars
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to doing the French heavy cavalry in bicornes, if I can coax enough whole ones out of the mould.
DeleteA fine start , looking very impressive
ReplyDeleteI'll probably add more eventually, but its enough for an affair of outposts in Flanders so I'm going to start working on the amphibious operations in Europe and start poking at the West Indies.
DeleteThis is a great start and I bet you could get an enjoyable game with these French men. Now, what about some opposition?
ReplyDelete...waitasecond. This looks like a *Staged* photo!
ReplyDeleteIts called a "parade"....
DeleteLes blancs et les bleus: magnifique!
ReplyDelete".... enfants de la Patrie.."
DeleteA great start! Sometimes a small force is easier to get to the table. And as you say, there is room to grow.
ReplyDeleteIts been nearly 3 years dince the first figures were converted and painted, and nearly 2 years since their first tabletop action. Hopefully it will years before their last one.
DeleteA very nice looking collection you've grown there.
ReplyDeleteEric
Its a start :)
DeleteA nice looking collection Ross…
ReplyDeleteThere is certainly plenty of room for expansion…
All the best. Aly
Off to the West Indies next!
DeleteVery nice army. It's a period sadly ignored. I have thought of wargaming the period myself.
ReplyDeleteThe 15mm armies for the period that I painted in the 80's and 90's formed the largest single collection I've ever painted. Then I got hooked on bigger figures....
DeleteNo doubt they will become a formidable force! I look forward to reading of their exploits!
ReplyDeleteI'm planning to focus on the fringes and petite guerre. Might even finally get some landing barges done up!
