EXCERPT FROM APPENDIX 1 from Don Featherstone's Battles With Model Soldiers
(The book that got me started.)

"Nothing in these pages is a dictate, no word says you must or you shall do it this way. On the contrary, the book sets out from the very beginning to stimulate the reader to think for himself, and to use what he has read merely as a foundation for efforts and ideas which reflect his own temperament and character. Only in this way will he obtain maximum satisfaction from the hobby of battling with model soldiers."

Under the Influence of the Vine come Dreams of Past Glory

or is Hector actually dreaming of games to come?

or maybe under the shade of  the grape vines was just a nice place for snoozing on a nearly Summer's day?

After an hour or so of experimenting and testing, and another hour or so of editing, a new version of Gathering of Hosts has been uploaded to Google Docs and the game finally played for real. Part 1 of the report will appear late tonight or tomorrow.

  1. Hector seems to be an exceptionally perceptive and clever cat . . . napping while he has the chance since one never knows when the next chance will present itself.

    -- Jeff

  2. Ross Mac,

A typical cat! Find the best place to be ... and then fall asleep until the next meal.

    All the best,

  3. Yes gents, I do try to watch and learn.
