En Avant!

My French Revolution forces continue to grow.

Prince August SYW figures with minor uniform and equipment adjustments and new heads, done in a simplified low detail toy style which will be topped with gloss varnish when the last five men join.

Every man counts as the build up to Huzzah! continues. Once this unit is complete, I'll move on to the Scots Greys, alas in bicorne rather than Bearskins during the Flanders campaign, but just as well since I would have to make the bearskins and time is short!.

    1. Well, last May I volunteered to do 12 units or 1 a month. 8 months later I had 4 done, only 1 being a 12 figure infantry unit. I also realized that I needed to do more units than I had pledged. So the new goal is a minimum average of a unit a week till the end of April or 8 more units. Say 48-60 inf, 12-18 light infantry, 6-18 cavalry and 3 more Generals. Well that's my target anyway. If I get 1/2 that done we'll be fine.

  3. They work well Ross...
It will be nice to see the Greys in their early uniforms.

    All the best. Aly

    1. Thanks Aly. Its been a while since I've churned out units and I could use new eyes but I'm starting to enjoy it again.

  4. Agree about the bicornes/bearskins. Sideways bicornes always look a bit on the ridiculous side to me - though strangely fore-and-aft look OK!

    1. Of course if no ill disciplined maverick ever wore his hat sideways, we wouldn't have fore and aft hats.

  5. Impressive production of late. Despite the pressures that preparing new units for a convention game can bring, the collection always benefits!

    1. In the old days I used to average a dozen shaded, detailed 15's a week. They didn't take up so much room.....

    1. Having the neck plugs makes this sort of conversion very easy.
