At last, the second Elastolin gendarme has been painted.
The base will need a bit of mottling at some point.

I like them , Ross!
ReplyDeleteThey'll do.
DeleteCool!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I sometimes think about with multi-figure stands is how to finish off the bases. For example, I have a bunch of minis on single figure plastic slotted bases that I have considered basing on multi-figure stands for some games, since I don't need all of them as singles for skirmish games and such. So I tried gluing some figures to plywood stands without removing the plastic bases from them. I think that just adding green paint to cover any exposed wood on the main stands is good (or good enough for me), or maybe just the "lazy" way out. ha ha
I don't think the exact technique is all that important but it seems to me that an "army" looks best if all using the same basing style. ( Its more theory than practice though...). My white glue and sawdust is quick n'easy.
DeleteAnd it’s not too distracting when we mass projects. Having different conventions allows us to sort faster at the end of the battle as well. :D
DeleteTrue. Couldn't have planned it better!
DeleteReally like these fellows, just waiting for some peasant to take a shot at them with one of those new fangled gun thingies...
ReplyDeleteThe trick is to run them down first..
DeleteCracking job, they look superb and impressive!
ReplyDeleteThanks but that's the Elastolin figure under the paint.
DeleteThey look fantastic Ross.
ReplyDeleteI love the sculpting on the elastolins. They look great even with those with the basic factory paint.
DeleteAnd very nice he looks too! Do you have some more in the que?
ReplyDeleteI have a few more gendarmes in the queue to get in the queue, and more landsknecht kits from Elastolin, Merten and Doug Miller but what I REALLY need are some light horse that don't dwarf the heavies. I'm trying not to think about making one and a mould.
DeleteIt would be pricey, but I think Irregular’s 40mm Renaissance light horse would be smaller than the converted Meisterzinns.
DeleteNot fond of Irregular's style by and large but I have a few conversion possibilities for the French. The Scots and English can keep their big ones.
DeleteEn avaunt, mes braves!
ReplyDeletePour Dieu et le roi!
